This area of Old Cairo, and the entire Fort of Babylon, is a popular pilgrimage spot for Egyptians and Christians from all over the world. There’s a strong sense of piety and commitment in the area. You can also visit and get in the way of St. Barbara’s and Abu Serga’s Church, as well as the hanging church and Ben Ezra’s the old Jewish synagogue.
